When I look at people around me, I wonder about their biggest dreams and their biggest achievements. When I listen to people talk about how well they’re doing in life, I feel really happy for them. It gives me hope that maybe good things can happen to me too. Today, this mindset comes easily to me. Today, I am calmer when people talk to me about their achievements and I no longer feel anxious or left behind. I’ve been trying to practice how good it feels to listen to someone else’s achievements and celebrate with them and for them.

I like receiving this kind of energy. It gives me so much hope and it allows me to have faith in my dreams. I was journaling once about a client’s achievement and how happy she was and almost instantly I saw myself writing, “Maybe my breakthrough is on the way, it’s right around the corner”. It wasn’t intentional. I wasn’t even sure why her achievement felt so good to me as if it were my own. Maybe because she was my client? Whatever the reason, I felt this jolt of happiness and peace.
I’ve been giving a lot of thought about success lately and it’s interesting to observe how differently it means and plays out for most people. For some people, success is about how much they earn, for some success is about how well-known they are, for some it’s how well they’re appreciated for their work. But it all boils down to how they feel about their achievements. For some people, it’s just not enough. For some people, even a little bit is a huge deal and a reason for celebration.
For me, success is a mixed bag. I love the fame and money. I also love how my work helps fulfill my purpose. I love being appreciated and celebrated. I want it all and like it all in great abundance. However, I wasn’t so accepting of this a while ago. I was hesitant to even admit to myself that I love money and I love fame. That appreciation helps me feel valued and validated.
But I would never feel this way about other people. If they would tell me they’ve made this huge breakthrough with money or they’ve received the paycheck they’d always dreamed of, I would feel truly happy for them. And I reached the conclusion that maybe I should pause to celebrate my breakthrough as well.
I have been listening to a lot of audiobooks on energy and one of the recurring themes that I’ve often come across is when you allow yourself to not compare but celebrate someone else’s victory, you see your breakthrough effortlessly coming your way. It’s a balance that somehow effortlessly and painlessly brings you closer to something you’ve been desiring for such a long time.
Have you ever heard people say, if it’s possible for them, it is possible for you too? But the missing piece in that advice according to me is the simple fact that this works when you feel good. Feel good not just about your success but about the success that’s all around you.
Have you noticed that when you’re in a depleted mood or phase everything seems dull and your desires seem impossible, then suddenly you hear something good, and your mood changes? You are filled with happy vibes and energy and just for a minute, you forget about all that isn’t working for you. Have you noticed how that happens almost miraculously? Now imagine if you encouraged this feel-good vibe in your life almost every time.
It goes without saying that you need to be true to yourself before you allow yourself to try this intentionally or mindfully. It’s important to not confuse your thoughts and you in no way force yourself to feel good if in case you don’t feel that way.
This is not a shortcut method to success but a beautiful lifestyle approach that works wonderfully when it becomes a part of you and your philosophy and value system.
When you look around you, what is it that you usually see? If you constantly see people struggling or complaining, it could also mean that you’ve been doing the same most of the time. But if you look around you and also see victories and accomplishments then perhaps, you’re also ready for your breakthrough. Maybe you truly believe that you deserve that success.
To be able to reach this kind of mindset requires a bit of awareness and a bit of compassion. It can take a while for us to realize that we’re probably comparing and complaining too much and to reach a place where we feel secure enough to have faith and share that feel goodness.
I believe that there’s a place for everyone here and the more I take the time to celebrate success, doesn’t matter if it is my own or someone else’s, it helps me feel good. And it is this feeling-good vibe that usually helps me attract more of what I want.
On a general basis, we do tend to do this for our friends or family and our loved ones. We tend to do this for the people we admire or are inspired by but what if we were to mindfully make it a habit? What if we were to imbibe this as a part of who we are?
I’d like to invite you to try this for yourself in case you haven’t mindfully tried this before.
Take a minute of your time to send these feel-good vibes to someone today. Either listen to them or take them out for a treat and celebrate their victory with them. Or if that feels daunting to you, you can also send them blessings while you meditate or pray, that also works beautifully.
Try to do this every day for the next 30 days and see how it makes you feel at the end of the 30 days. Observe the changes you experience in your perspective towards challenges, how much your comparing and complaining reduced, and if you’ve been feeling happier than you usually do.
If you can see changes, how can you try and make it a habit?
