There’s an analogy that I’ve always really admired and tried to practice a lot in my life. To actually believe and live as if you already have everything you want. I’d read this somewhere and it really stuck with me. In the realm of manifestation and the law of attraction, this is a winner and a requirement.

To believe that you already have all that you need or want.

When I’d just started learning and practicing manifestation, it was hard to include this in my everyday life. Each time I tried to believe I felt as if a part of me was lying and not honest.

How can I believe that I’m rich when I can’t see money flowing in?How can I believe that I’m confident when I’m still not feeling confident enough?

These were practical questions and also obstacles that kept getting in the way.

I understand the science behind this analogy. The brain is a muscle and it can be trained. That’s where affirmations and positive self-talk make a huge difference in helping us retrain our minds. The difficulty was in practicing it. Actually, trying to implement this in my life.

While it took me a really long time to actually feel that this analogy could help me, I still tried to work on it in my own way. And in this article, I wanted to share 4 important tips that helped me. The more I focused on these, the more I realized that this analogy works and helps me stay positive and optimistic.

  • The big picture – It was very necessary for me to be aware of what exactly is it that I wanted. The more I paid attention to what I wanted the more confident I became about the outcome. Every decision and direction that I made and turned to then started to fall in line with that big picture. Even though it was difficult to narrow it down to what I wanted, I realized it was essential to pause and keep questioning my desires and give myself the courage to say it aloud. I realized that the point wasn’t to make sure I made it happen but simply knowing what my heart desired allowed me to follow that direction in a clearer manner. Needless to say, it took me some time to not get in my own way, keep my thoughts simple and free from confusion and I kept coming back to what I essentially wanted.

Activity – On a piece of paper make two columns and on one side write down all that you don’t want, this will make it easier to then write down what exactly is it that you do want. The things you want will become your big picture. Write that down on a fresh page and keep coming back to it anytime you feel lost or confused.

  • Limit distractions – What really made this challenging for me was when I allowed distractions of all kinds. My own confusion regarding my big picture affected my decision making and I couldn’t take the appropriate actions that I needed to. Sometimes the distractions would get really loud and leave me feeling hopeless. Distractions are inevitable but, I’ve also learned that distractions can come across as simple messages that indicate our limiting beliefs and how we need to refocus our attention. For me, all my distractions were leading toward my limiting beliefs and the more I worked on these limiting beliefs the distractions automatically faded away. The awareness that I’m now getting distracted helped me slow down and introspect.

Activity – On a page, write down all your distractions, it could be people, memories, situations, etc., next to each distraction ask this question “what are you trying to tell me?” write the answers on another page. The answers then become your limiting beliefs. Write your limiting beliefs on another page and try to challenge them compassionately or use affirmations to reframe them. Allow yourself to practice this for a few days.

  • Pay attention to progress – I think this one really does the trick when it comes to manifestations and attraction. I’ve gotten into the habit of looking at the Brightside of what I’m working towards instead of only paying attention to the things that aren’t working for me. Especially when things are moving at a really slow pace. I try to allow myself to see progress even in that. I’ve seen that the more I do this the less worry follows and I’m more grounded and at peace. I feel optimistic about my goals and it honestly feels satisfying to look at what’s working.

For e.g., if I’m manifesting clients for my program and after a long period of silence let’s say I’ve received an inquiry but the sign-on doesn’t happen, initially I would feel really upset and consider it a failure but now I see the inquiry as a huge sign of progress, it’s an indication that I’m moving in the right direction and things are happening. This way of thinking has truly changed the way I look at things and the kind of energy I give and receive.

Activity – On a page, write down your desires. Next to each desire write the small and tiny progress you’ve been noticing and observing. Try to do this every time. After a while, you’ll be able to see that the progress has been improving every time. Even if there’s a setback, there would’ve been some progress. Allow yourself to be patient.

  • Act as if – be as if you already have. For the difficult part, I had to always remind myself to behave as if I already have what I wanted even if I don’t have it yet. So, I needed to be mindful of how I speak, how I feel, and how I think. There was no room for impatience or scarcity or confusion. Every time I looked at an empty slot on my calendar my initial response used to be worry and concern followed by a little sadness but I quickly would change it to, the slots are always full. And actually, feel as if my calendar is fully booked. It took me a lot of time and patience to do this because logically it felt like manipulation or deceiving. But I’ve believed in neuroplasticity and the way perception works. I could only believe it working when I worked on this part and saw the changes take place. Affirmations played a big part.

Activity – On a page, write down your desires or all that you’re trying to attract. Next to it write down the affirmations that can help you feel as if you already have it. Pause a little and try to visualize as if you’re already living it in your present.

I’ve been practicing and teaching manifestation for a really long time now and it’s an art I’ve come to enjoy. I’ve seen the changes happen gradually and in the most amazing way, oftentimes better than what I expected.

I understand that ideally, it may not be possible to stay positive all the time. And it’s perfectly normal to feel overwhelmed and have moments of breakdown. I’ve experienced them too and I still get a little restless and impatient sometimes however, what I’ve realized is that the intensity of my restlessness and anxiety has reduced the more I’ve tried to practice this kind of optimism and school of thought.

I still give myself the space to feel what I feel and don’t fight it. I do tend to cry and worry and get angry sometimes. But I bounce back faster and in a calmer way than I used to after I started using this method.

I hope this article and this approach help you attract all that you desire.
