First thing to ask yourself every morning as a HSP - it's not what's on the to-do list

Ideally it makes sense to see what's on your to-do list, that's mostly what neurotypical people do to maintain a sense of productivity but for HSP that could appear differently.

Even though sometime HSP prefer schedules and routines, they still could get caught up in the perfectionist cycle that could cause overwhelm in them.

Even though I prefer a routine, I sometimes cannot function keeping a to-do list in mind all the time. I sometimes experience overwhelm and I experience exhaustion from simply keeping up. It would cause emotional flooding and shame and guilt. My nervous system would react from a place of fatigue. Not to mention, as a HSP, I can focus only on one thing at a time and cannot contain too many things. When I tried to keep up with all that I had to do, I would experience overstimualtion very often. That would also lead to feeling disoriented and losing sense of purpose.

But when I started asking myself this question, it changed so much. It reduced my guilt and shame. It helped me stay focused and helped me come back when I felt like I'm doing less or more.

As a HSP, I'd love to invite you to also ask yourself this question every morning if you can, just to see how it helps you in not just your productivity but also your confidence.
